Collaborative Practice Kansas City, LLC is a greater Kansas City community of independent legal, mental health and financial professionals working in concert to create client-centered processes for resolving divorce conflict. We trust and value these professions equally and respect the skills they each bring to clients’ needs.

Our mission is to benefit the general public of Kansas City by fostering professional excellence in conflict resolution through interdisciplinary collaborative divorce. We do this by protecting the essentials of the collaborative divorce process, expanding the awareness of collaborative divorce in the Kansas City area, and providing a central resource for client support and education services through professional networking and by developing standards of practice.

Our vision is to transform the way divorce is resolved in the greater Kansas City area to where the usually difficult process is less stressful, less drawn-out, less expensive, more respectful, more transparent, and more engaging. We want to help transform divorce in the greater Kansas City area from a traditional process that is essentially destructive to a creative process.

Our Attorneys represent client goals and interests to the team, work with team to complete the divorce with integrity and mutual satisfaction while providing legal counsel and guidance for many of the questions arising related to decisions made throughout the divorce process.

Our Financial Professionals, also known as Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA) or Financial Neutrals, work with clients to gather financial information related to assets, liabilities, and budget data (income & expense details). Working with professionals provides financial understanding and financial awareness of the decisions each of you is asked to make throughout the process.

Our Mental Health Professionals, also known as Coaches, assist couples and families in transition with a focus on communication, problem-solving skills, and the development of a parenting plan, if applicable. The Coach works with the parties to identify & make the most of their strengths, assisting each party to be his/her best during the divorce process while taking steps toward their new lives apart.
